1. Inspect before buying
Race cars, engines, gearboxes, electronics, safety equipment and specialist motorsport parts can carry significant technical and financial risk.
Where possible, inspect the item in person or use a trusted specialist before paying.
2. Verify seller and ownership
- Check seller identity and contact details.
- Ask for invoices, build documentation, logbooks, registration papers or ownership history where relevant.
- Check whether the seller can prove authority to sell the item.
- Be extra careful with urgent sales, unusually low prices or sellers refusing inspection.
3. Payments
- Do not send large payments unless you trust the seller and have verified the item.
- Avoid unusual payment methods, pressure tactics and third-party shipping scams.
- Be careful with fake payment confirmations.
- For high-value items, consider secure payment arrangements, written agreements and professional advice.
4. Collection and transport
Use proper transport for vehicles and heavy parts. Confirm loading requirements, location access, documentation and insurance before collection.
For international deals, check import/export requirements, taxes, duties and transport insurance before committing.
5. Motorsport safety
Used motorsport parts may be subject to fatigue, crash damage, heat exposure or hidden defects. Safety-critical parts should be inspected by a competent specialist before use.
Always confirm whether parts are suitable and legal for your intended championship, road use, track use or event rules.
6. Report suspicious activity
Report listings or users that appear fraudulent, misleading, illegal, unsafe or abusive. Use the report function on the listing page or contact abuse@raceventory.com.
